Hats Off to The Creative Gathering

10/04/2014

Propaganda founder Julian Kynaston recently accepted an invitation to The Gathering in Edinburgh, an event shrouded in mystery and intrigue, which brought together creatives from all walks of life.

Assembling at precisely nine minutes to nine on the cobbled Heart of Midlothian, by St Giles’s cathedral on the Royal Mile, the 90 selected guests were beckoned forward to a secret venue. The celebration of creativity brought together a vibrant mix of invited guests who ranged from actors to hairdressers and artists to marketeers.

The third iteration of the event, held at The Devil’s Advocate, celebrated a spectrum of creativity from across sectors, brands and individuals and was impeccably organised by Gordon J Millar.

The event proved that creativity doesn’t need to be dumbed down and isn’t restricted to a small number of what are generally termed ‘creative industries’. #TG3 brought together 90 genuinely creative people from a range of backgrounds, working across diverse areas of interest, who were able to share ideas and celebrate achievements.

As founder of cult beauty brand, Illamasqua and chairman of Propaganda, Julian was able to share his experiences with those at the event, including Waterloo Road actresses Alisa Anderson and Marlene Madenge. Also in attendance was the legendary founder of the high-end hair styling salons, Charlie Miller.

The range of talented individuals in attendance showed that creativity is an aptitude that is on display in all walks of life, something we’ve recognised at Propaganda over many years. Creativity in commerce is vital to help our customers grow and achieve their goals.

If The Gathering has taught us one thing, it is to welcome creativity from as wide a set of sources as possible. After all, out-thinking your competitors is far preferable to out-spending them.
